Since 2010 I have been competing in the smallest regional competitions, to one of the biggest events in Canadian sports. My first few years of training and competing, I struggled, coming in last almost every race. I was very discouraged and started to think biathlon may not be the sport for me. After giving it some thought and the ongoing support from my family and coaches I decided to give it one last try. I pushed myself throughout the off season so I would not have to experience the same disappointment and failure. With the first race of the season, came my first chance to prove my training and commitment had payed off. It was exhilarating to pass athletes that were blowing me out of the water less than a year ago. The rest of that season flew by and I even competed BC Winter Games, an inter-sport competition, where I acquired three silver medals. Since then I have competed in three national competitions in whistler BC, Charlo New Brunswick and Hiton Alberta. I also do every BC cup i possibly can, all over the province. Next year I hope to qualify and compete in Youth Olympics which will take place in Lillehammer Norway.
